Backup and Recovery Comedy: Institute of Backup Trauma
Earlier this year I posted a video which dramatically illustrated the importance of a backup plan. Ouch.
Part of my job as a technologist is to help people understand backup and recovery without nodding off midway through, so it’s great for me that some software vendors go to extraordinary lengths to remind us of the old adage that:
a backup isn’t a backup until you’ve restored from it.
So, in the second part of this series of posts on backup and recovery comedy here’s another film I use in my presentations from time to time (this time courtesy of LiveVault, now owned by Autonomy) featuring Monty Python’s John Cleese as he introduces us to the Institute for Backup Trauma.
Next time, a video about how a top Hollywood film nearly never was because of a dodgy backup…
I’ve been consulting and talking on backup and recovery, data protection and business continuity solutions for over 15 years – if you’d like chat about how I can help you, do get in touch.
