Last week saw the first ever Creative Week, powered by Adobe, which I was incredibly fortunate to host.
Tens of thousands of viewers tuned-in for the daily live broadcasts and thousands more watched on demand later on. Alongside that the CreativeWeekUK Twitter hashtag went crazy and trended several times across the week.
Here’s the on demand video for Friday’s Creative Week Photography and Imaging day, featuring a very lively debate on whether digital imaging is all tech and no talent.
On the panel were award-winning photographer Timothy Allen; creative consultant Erin Moroney; photographer, retoucher and trainer Glyn Dewis and Adobe’s Richard Curtis. As you’ll see, it doesn’t take long for the debate to kick-off onto the heated topic of image manipulation…
The UK’s first ever Creative Week is now underway!
Powered by Adobe and sponsored by a plethora of creative partners and publications, Creative Week UK is a celebration of the UK creative industry and creative people as well as the creative technologies that help enable them.
The centrepiece of the week’s activities is the live daily broadcast – which is where I come in.
Every day from midday I’ll be hosting a live show featuring over three hours of discussions, debates, techniques, tips and tricks from the Creative Week studios in Central London in front of a studio audience, all of which is being broadcast live online from the Adobe website.
During the week I’ll be joined by a host of industry luminaries and experts all sharing their opinions and expertise. We also take the cameras out and about to see professionals at work in their own studios, visiting the likes of Wayne Hemingway, Made Visual and Pete Fowler.
Each day focuses on a different area of the industry: Design and Publishing (Tuesday 10th), Film and Video (Wednesday 11th), Mobile and Web (Thursday 12th) and Photography and Imaging (Friday 13th). Here’s the full agenda for the week.
And as if that weren’t enough we’ve daily challenges and phone-ins giving everybody a chance to win Adobe Creative Suite software.
I genuinely cannot wait and I’m really excited by some of the guests and debates we have lined-up.
Creative Week is an ambitious programme of live broadcasts for the creative industry featuring interactive debates, lively discussions (including our studio audience), demos and more from Flint’s terrific studios in central London overlooking the River Thames and Tower Bridge.
Each day focuses on a different creative discipline from design and publishing to film and video, and the line-up of experts appearing on the show is quite simply world-class.
What’s more, there are daily challenges and competitions both in-studio and at home to win a copy of Adobe Creative Suite 6.
I’m really looking forward to the week, particularly as I’ve been using Adobe products such as Flash, Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Premiere Pro in my work for years – some before they even were owned by Adobe.
Here’s the Creative Week trailer:
We kick off daily at midday London time, full schedule information will be posted on the Creative Week website nearer the time.
